A Day In The Library

Yes I’ve finally settled on yet another new site! And hopefully this time I’ll be more serious about it la hor. Today was library day! That means I got to soak myself in books and more books thus reclusing myself more at home by reading books and books!

Okay let me start off with something more interesting. My library is located amidst the busy streets of KL, just opposite Dataran Merdeka and that is why I love my library. Everything about it (except for the mean security guards!!!) is fantastic! Let me tell you why.

sofas.jpg

There ARE sofas! Big, chunky sofas that can just envelope your whole body while you read your book in comfort! I absolutely love this. And this isn’t the usual desks-with-chairs concept we usually see, although further behind the library we have rows and rows of desks with chairs.  BUT STILL!

bookshelf.jpg

The bookshelves are made out of metal and they’re in bright pink/violet! And the books are aplenty. Imagine a library with 100 of the same shelves with the same amount of books. *__* NICE.

view1.jpg

And you know when you’re so tired of squinting your eyes to read those minute words in your book, you can gaze at the view outside the library because they have clear ceiling windows!

tower.jpg

This is went you exit the library. Can pretty much get a gorgeous view of Dataran Merdeka although it ain’t that gorgeous la. But you get it right; the historical events and such.

flag.jpg

Noooooooo we’re not in US! T_T

museum.jpg

Oh and there is this really cool museum just outside the library. It’s rather quaint and perhaps a little old, but I would like to visit it someday!

building.jpg

I don’t know what this building is but it’s very nice! The library’s just across the road from this brick building. Really nice!

motorists.jpg

Continuation of the Very Nice building. See that pedestrian crossing? If you don’t see it, then you should be right. This road is almost impossible to cross over and requires a lot of guts to do so! Everytime when I cross this street I keep thinking about my will because all the motorbikes are so merciless! And seeing the tourists struggling to cross it is also a shame. Today I was once again putting my life on hold while another upset pedestrian brushed passed me and chanted, ‘RUN, RUN, RUN!!!’

Ya so that’s how bad it is. Sorry ah guai lows.

tourists.jpg

Beautiful tourists walking about Dataran Merdeka! I praise them because they seem in awe of just a rectangular fied steeped with historical values. See that tour bus on the right! Don’t play play okay, there are people visiting our country!

And last but not least,

river.jpg

Dirty KL. I guess it’s a common sight for us locals, but for foreigners, OMG. Their rivers are like crystal clear whereas ours are like Milo concocted in all sorts of malt drinks. Don’t even think about the taste of it.

And that was my adventure today! Ya I know very boring right. That’s the whole purpose on me writing this boring post at 2 in the morning because I WANT to make myself tired!

It’s okay if you don’t understand. I don’t too. T_T

Semangat Sial

Maklumlah, kita semua warisan negara.
Adakah saya terlalu berpanjang lebar?

shit what on earth is wrong with me

Five

Blast From The Past…

Five things found in your school bag :
1. School diary that practically has no use at all.
2. Ridiculously thick text books.
3. My mosquito-net pencil case.
4. Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde literature book.
5. Black book that will cause me to leap into a major fret if it disappears.

Find things found in your purse :
None; my purse had gone missing since camp. I was so blur that I think I’d left it in the bus.
But if I still had it with me, there would be :
1. My library card.
2. My British Council membership card.
3. My RM1 notes folded into heart shapes (it took me a whole freaking period to grasp the concept).
4. An encouragement card from the youth in church.
5. AND MONEY.

Five favourite things in your room :
1. Jay’s NC poster.
2. Jay’s SF poster.
3. Jay’s Panasonic model shot picture.
4. My gleaming primary school trophies which are now collecting dusts.
5. My 3K and 4K primary school class photos. Me and my stupid bob haircut ruined it though T_T

Five things you’re currently into :
1. Emo Jap-doramas.
2. S.H.E’s 中国话. BRLILIANT piece of art.
3. Playing 菊花台 on the piano. The high octaves are torturing my fingers…but it sounds darn great!
4. Writing/composing songs.
5. Sushi.

Five shows you’re into :
1. Emo Jap-doramas.
2. FRIENDS.
3. Reality TV shows such as AI, TAR etc.
4. 花樣少年少女
5. 齊天大勝 (Well…it was enjoyable at first, but the events are getting dull. Nevertheless it still has both of my thumbs up)

Five lies :
1. I go with the flow in anything.
2. I’m a threat to people in studies.
3. I’m not confident (Don’t judge a book by its cover. I’m not what you think I am)
4. I find bishounen gay.
5. Ah Bengs are the worst creatures ever breathing on earth.

Five truths :
1. Ah Bengs are attractive and appealing (Sue me if you will, I’ll not change my mind)
2. I take indulgement in writing and composing songs during my free time.
3. I’m not a nerd.
4. I’m strong-willed and sensitive.
5. To me, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

AND…

Five random incidents that happened recently/in the past :
1. Dad was in Traders Hotel paying the bill at Gobo. When asked how much the bill was, his reply was, ‘Cannot see la. Too blur already’. And he gave his credit card without further ado.

2. School had a spotcheck on Wednesday and the prefect confiscated my marker pen. I didn’t realize it until it was confiscated. Oh well…it saved me a job as it was running out of ink. ^^

3. Kor came back from UK with more muscles this time. Despite spending almost a year in LSE, he still does NOT know how to differenciate the good and the bad. Kor, you know what I mean, don’t you?

4. Mom is being cute nowadays :
a. She drove pass a car on the highway muttering, ‘That car’s so nerdy!’
b. She thought Banana Republic was a country somewhere in the word. (In actual fact it is a clothing line)
c. And she thought Happy Feet (the movie) was a shoe shop.

5. There was a stinging pain at my hip bone which was unbearable. It happened right after school on Friday and I am still suffering from it now. Hopefully it won’t turn out for the worst. :(

He Makes Me Sing

Michael Bublé’s Everything is everything!
(The video surprisingly loads fast)
You’re a falling star,
You’re the get away car.
You’re the line in the sand when I go too far.
You’re the swimming pool, on an August day.And
You’re the perfect thing to say.
And you play your card, but it’s kinda cute.
Ah, When you smile at me you know exactly what you do.
Baby don’t pretend, that you don’t know it’s true.
Cause you can see it when I look at you.
[Chorus:]
And in this crazy life, and through these crazy times
It’s you, it’s you, You make me sing.
You’re every line, you’re every word, you’re everything.
You’re a carousel, you’re a wishing well,
And you light me up, when you ring my bell.
You’re a mystery, you’re from outer space,
You’re every minute of my everyday.
And I can’t believe, uh that I’m your man,
And I get to kiss you baby just because I can.
Whatever comes our way, ah we’ll see it through,
And you know that’s what our love can do.
[Chorus:]
And in this crazy life, and through these crazy times
It’s you, it’s you, You make me sing
You’re every line, you’re every word, you’re everything.
So, La, La, La, La, La, La, La
So, La, La, La, La, La, La, La
[Chorus:]
And in this crazy life, and through these crazy times
It’s you, it’s you, You make me sing.
You’re every line, you’re every word, you’re everything.
You’re every song, and I sing along.
Cause you’re my everything.yeah, yeah
So, La, La, La, La, La, La, La
So, La, La, La, La, La, La, La
You can hear a portion of the song on 8TV depending on the commercial airing. This song is extremely addictive…plus the lyrics are so sweet that it can make one faint out of love. Wheee…but let’s just keep our fingers crossed that this song will not be overrated and overplayed on radio stations.
P/S : I have managed to secure myself in the top 15 of the class. How was that so? I dunno, it was probably a miracle from above. ^^

Even A Honk Was Worth It

The glass window was shaking vigorously with the support of its pane. I knew it wanted freedom and was not longing for the fun of it. The ride was bumpy, as if someone had purposely placed a puerile prank throughout the short trip to my destination. It was one of those typical buses that looked similar to any other. Some layers of yellow paint were torn off, probably due to the cruel affairs humans have gotten themselves into.

As the ride continued and bottoms stung with pain, fresh air caressed passengers’ complexions gently like the feeling of silk cloth making contact with our skin. Adhering to the theme of old-fashion and simplicity, the bus was fully conditioned with nature’s cool and warmth.

Behind the wheel was a man in his thirties. He was simply dressed in a plain white shirt and a pair of dark blue trousers, like what normal bus drivers would present themselves as. He deftly assured his way on the highway, leaving not an inch of confidence behind. This time I silently crept into my own thoughts, once again in this state of mind. They are the little things that make our lives much better, much more worth the living.

Those attentive eyes explained a hundredfold, bearing so many meanings that none could readily comprehend. The brakes were eventually in use, and we were required to step off the bus or be left behind. I rose and thanked the bus driver for his mighty effort although it was a ride far from enjoyable. Yet overall, it was that particular ride that kept my head in spins.

Till this day, I still cannot fathom what made me attracted to that quaint-looking bus that just gave transport to students. Maybe it was the ride. Or maybe it was just everything about it.

It’s really amazing, isn’t it, for something so simple that can transcend all boundaries of what are in these minds of ours?

Above All

Dad, can I have an iPod?
No. You must have two!
Remember those days when I was at the tender age of nine and we were both crossing the Sydney Harbour Bridge with the wind brushing past our faces? The picture is still framed into a tiny pocket in the big photo album we always put our travel photos in. I was but half of your height back then and whenever I wanted to talk to you, I would look up at you and we would both have a healthy conversation together.
When I was four I bought you your first pair of sunglasses. It was just a typical pair of shades, layered with a dark purple colour and framed in such a way that whenever you wore it, you looked fantastic. Since that fateful day in the spectacle shop nine years have unexpectedly come and gone. Despite the drastic change of fashion and the demand of status symbol in the society, you still clung onto that pair of spectacles which your four-year-old daughter blindly picked for you. And yes, dad, you still look good in it.
Truth to be told, you were the lenient one amongst you and mom. Mom had to deal with scolding me, whilst you opened your wide arms thereafter pulling a daughter who yearned to seek solace. Always known as the breadwinner of the family, you balanced work and family equally without a mistake. I was, in fact, am still upset whenever you come home late for dinner. I just cannot bear the sight of that empty seat in front of me because sadly, your presence contribute to my appetite. But what is more, a daughter will definitely be missing her father when he does not come home early.
Most of the time your daughter comes home downhearted at her exam results, warning you that she’d probably get top 40 (not bottom 10) in class. Impulsively, your normal expression surprisingly transformed into a proud smile, conveying the message, You still did your best and I’m more than proud of you. I would have felt like slapping myself in the face for disappointing you, but somehow that face of yours showed no devastation; no dismay. Naturally this would bring me to tears of both joy and sadness because it is impossible for a parent to pleasantly beam at the thought of hearing his daughter would be getting one of the last in class.
When I heard that you would not be able to go for the Japan trip last year, my heart instantaneously anchored. But later, when you had cancelled the appointment you had at the same time and said you could join us for the trip, I was really happy. It was very funny when you keepy chanting Sumimasen! to strangers on the streets of Japan, thinking that your response was the most relevant one to answer their questions. But, really, dad, with you going there, my trip could not have been better.
There were times when you were flustered and stressed because of your work. I, of course, could not do anything for you except to uphold you in prayer. All the time it hurt me when you yourself were hurt. Yet slowly, your faith towards God has grown into something so strong and firm, that not even a single soul can break that belief of yours. I’m really, really glad for you, dad.
This tribute does not stop here, but words do fail me currently. As for now, just enjoy your day, dad, and bear in mind that your daughter here will forever cherish you in her heart come what may. I will not wish you a Happy Fathers’ Day, because everyday is Fathers’ Day. Clueless why, tears are forming and flowing down my cheeks as I’m typing this. Thanks for being a great dad, dad.
Not to forget, we should also never forget what our Heavenly Father has been blessing us with. The great sacrifice He had to make was something that I will eternally marvel upon.
I’m already 14+, and I’ve learned so many invaluable things in life that cannot be jotted down on a notebook. But one thing, just one thing that I clearly remember from you, dad, is to not look back.
Well, I guess it’s time for both of us to choose another pair of sunglasses for you!

All About The Mouth

First the ulcers. Now the sore throat? What next? I get canker sores all over my mouth?

Enough about that. By the way, here’s the discovery of the day :

Jay Junior? Look at his puffy cheeks! Could it be that Jay has finally met his long-lost twin brother from another part of the planet?

By the way, we got back our English results. As usual, low expectations; mediocre results.

Sudah Dapat Ulcer Ditimpa Batuk Pula

After days and nights of painstakingly aiding my ulcers, they have finally showed good results and I’m more than ecstatic. And I have never thought ulcers would be so docile by making rapid improvements in one night, yesterday that is. Hm, at least they have some sense of compassion, don’t they? But now my smile is three-quarter full and guess what? Ya my goal is to patch it back to 100% so that I can show off my straight rows of teeth to everyone. My foot la. I just don’t want to have people glaring at my smiling saying that I look retarded. *___*

So yesterday was one gruelling effort. I rinsed my mouth twice and applied Bonjela which did contribute to my healing. The pain when the liquid came in contact with my ulser was the bomb. And when I mean ‘the bomb’, I mean DA BOMB. It was one heck of a painful experience rinsing my mouth with hot salty water. If there were eggs there, I’d probably be cracking them up one by one asking for more eggs to be crushed in a jiffy.

This morning I could actually smile and it came across my mind that how better a day like this could be. Or so I thought. My throat suddenly burst into flames of pain and itch. It took me about 5 seconds before I could gulp down my saliva. And the worst thing was that my throat felt hot – the temperature kind of hot. I dunno whether I’m sensitive to too much amount of salt, because yesterday night I dumped quite a lot of salt into the hot water.

Now my throat is all fiery and in ever few minutes I’ll start blurting out coughes. Well actually before this I was suffering from a bit of a dehydration (camp). We, or maybe just I drank only 3 glasses per day over there because of the hectic timetable. But back to the point – what in the name of planet earth is wrong with my mouth? The abrupt infection (it happened in a few hours and my gums slowly became soft) is inane enough, what more when my throat is now in flames?

Actually ah, when I try pondering upon it, maybe I’m getting what I deserve for saying nasty things to people. Argh wtv it is I just want it to get better and better and better!

After this, I can seriously rank having ulcers first on my most-hated list of things. That’s why in the future, or perhaps even right now, let’s consume as much water to our limits’ extent. Now I know that to prevent having ulcers, all we gotta do is DRINK DRINK DRINK!
